Educational Leadership

With over a decade of experience in higher education, I have held several academic leadership positions across diverse institutional and cultural settings in United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. My leadership approach is underpinned by a commitment to academic excellence, inclusivity, and innovation in curriculum design, teaching practice, and quality assurance.

As Academic Manager at the UK College of Business and Computing (UKCBC) in London (2013–2016), I was responsible for the academic operations of the Travel & Tourism and Business programmes. I led curriculum development in line with Pearson’s HND frameworks, coordinated teaching teams, oversaw internal verification processes, and spearheaded staff development initiatives. I also played a key role in fostering external partnerships, including the college’s collaborative agreement with Bath Spa University. At the University of Northampton (2015–2022), I progressed from Associate Lecturer to Senior Lecturer, Programme Leader, and Deputy Head of Department in the Faculty of Business and Law. I was involved in the programme design and delivery of large-scale programmes such as BA (Hons) International Tourism Management and BA (Hons) Events Management. I led the design, validation, and delivery of several programmes, including the BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management (Top-Up), BA (Hons) Tourism and Hospitality Management (Top-Up) and MA International Hotel Management. As Academic Partnership Liaison Officer, I supported transnational education partnerships in Singapore, Greece and Sri Lanka, including delivery of DBA modules in the UAE. My leadership extended to staff mentoring, academic advising, curriculum review, staff recruitment, and internal training. I was also responsible for aligning departmental goals with faculty strategy and enhancing the department’s research and teaching profile.

In the United Arab Emirates, I served a Division Chair of Business at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), where I led the Business Division at two campuses (2023–2024). In this role, I oversaw academic operations, faculty performance, curriculum implementation, and quality assurance processes. I worked closely with community stakeholders, local industries, and schools to develop partnerships and internship opportunities. I also contributed to the development and delivery of business programmes aligned with the institution’s applied learning philosophy and national development goals.

Throughout my academic career, I have consistently focused on enhancing student learning, mentoring staff, promoting curriculum innovation, and embedding global perspectives in education. My leadership is informed by a strong pedagogical foundation and a commitment to impactful, student-centred education.
